Beavers are best

1st Clevedon Scouts run two Beaver Colonies, Brunel and Waverly, for girls and boys between the ages of 6 and 8. The colonies meet at the scout hut for an hour on different nights of the week during school term time.

Each Colony is split up into coloured lodges, each of which has a Beaver lodge leader. The Beavers get to wear the awesome uniform, the necker which denotes the colour of the 1st Clevedon Scout group and also a woggle which matches the colour of their lodge.

What’s the best thing about Beaver Scouts? Activities, trips and making friends are all part of what makes it so much fun for the girls and boys.

As well as earning activity badges, many Beavers Scouts get to go on camps and sleepovers, often for the first time.

Beaver Scouts like:

  • Being creative – making things and singing
  • Playing games and sports
  • Going on visits and investigating nature
  • Learning about themselves
  • Getting to know other people
  • Discovering the worlds of science, nature and technology
  • Exploring the natural and man-made world
  • Caring – responding to the needs of others, the local and international community
